Darkened by misguided souls,
Draped In black, dying to maim
To kill,
Believing…somehow their savagery,
Their self-sacrifice,
Was God’s will.
Pray for Paris. Pray for peace. Pray for me.
Pray for you. Pray for humanity. Pray for your enemy.
Pray for us-- All.
Prayers for Paris, the City of Light
Darkened by suicide, genocide, grenades,
Explosives, carnage, bloodshed,
Mayhem, mass shootings: massacres.
Prayers for Paris,
For justice…not vengeance,
For peace…not war,
For light…not darkness,
For love…not hate.
Pray for the light of the Almighty
To shine bright upon us – all –
Today…to awaken, to guide, to heal,
To illuminate
The blood soaked, blood stricken
City of Light,
And every bloodstained, bludgeoned corner
Of our war-weary world.
